Unwrapping 2021. Bitly’s Product Highlights

Bitly has grown to be more than a link management tool. In 2021 Bitly added additional features and products to empower businesses and brands to connect with customers. We made many improvements to Bitly’s platform throughout 2021 so that you can build a stronger connection with your audience.

The Bitly Integrations Team has added new features to link management.

Link Management: New Features

Modifying UTM Parameters

Bitly understands that users want to be able to do more with their time. We discovered that many of our users used Google’s URL Builder (or other platforms) before coming to Bitly to shorten their links. UTM parameters allow our users to track how and where their users come to the URL.

We were able to add UTM parameter to our shortened flow. This made it easy for our users to add UTM parameter and shorten the link.

It is available for all users. Check it out! There’s no need to build UTMs elsewhere and then come to Bitly. All of it can be done here.

CSV Bulk Shortening Saves Time

This year, we introduced one of our most requested features! CSV Bulk Shortening allows users to quickly shorten and brand links directly from a spreadsheet. Users can still organize their links in spreadsheets and avoid the tedious copying and pasting from spreadsheets back to spreadsheets. Users can now shorten up to 10,000 links with the CSV bulk-shortening feature (depending on their plan). This saves time and reduces the chance of making mistakes while shortening links at large scale.

QR Code Customization

Did you know that QR codes are available? Yes, we do offer QR codes. Our users often ask us to customize their QR codes so they can be downloaded in multiple formats. Bitly can help you do just that. Our users can now choose the color and the format of the downloaded file. They also have the option to display the QR without or with a Bitly logo. Your QR codes can be used to distinguish your brand and give personality. There are many options!

Only paid users have access to the QR code and can customize it. You will also find many other useful features in our paid plans.

Upgrade now to get it and personalize your QR codes!

But that’s not all. QR Code Generator is the world’s most popular QR code platform. It provides businesses with an end-to–end solution for designing, delivery, management, analytics, and analysis of QR codes. You can check it out here.

In private beta, we launched the Link Launchpad

We made significant changes this year to improve your link management experience. We learned from many of you that you are keen to package and curate all your most important links so that your audience can find and explore more of what you have to offer.

Link Launchpad is a link-in bio and link management platform that combines both. We are currently testing this feature in private beta and we would love to hear your feedback about how you create and customize your page.

Link Launchpad is now available for download. You can also read more information on our blog, and sign up to the waitlist to receive notifications when it goes live.

Simple Experience

Accessible UX Filtering

Our filtering UX was difficult to understand and even more difficult to use in the past. Did you know that tags could be used to filter? Our users didn’t know this. We decided to give our filtering a facelift to make it easier and more accessible due to popular demand.

Our new filtering can now be seen at the top on our page, “All Links”, as you can see. A modified mobile version of our filtering is also available. It displays all options clearly, so it doesn’t matter if you are using our mobile app or our web site.

Now you can filter to your heart’s delight, regardless of whether it’s via tags or users.

Here are some other filters you can use:

Simpler Settings

Bitly is committed to simplicity and making it easy to do the most important tasks. Our users complained that the management of simple tasks such as account settings, profile settings, and developer settings was too complicated and confusing. We redesigned the user interface and simplified all settings. There is no need to navigate between multiple pages to modify group settings (for enterprise users), access account settings, or retrieve an API token. Navigating settings should now be easier and more intuitive for everyone.

We’ve also given our user management a makeover just in time for 2022. Administrators now have access to up to 12 months’ worth of activity from users within their organizations. Think about “Who created this group?” and “Was our team member added to Bitly?”

Filtering by activity or user can be done to see how Bitly users navigate Bitly. This will allow admins to make informed decisions about how to manage their organization. You can also export the data to share with others as you wish.

Bitly Integrations

Integrations powered by Bitly

Our users have access to a variety of tools. Social media management platforms include CRM, website and blog builders, and communications platforms. Sometimes it can be frustrating to work in an app and then have to go to Bitly to cut a link, copy it and then paste it back in. Bitly’s API supports hundreds of integrations. It can also be integrated into other tools, so users don’t have to leave the app they’re using and can focus on the task at hand.

Bitly’s official WordPress plugin and Bitly’s Zapier application were released this year. Bitly’s engineering team has enhanced both to allow link shortening using custom domains. These integrations will allow users to create short links through their Bitly accounts.

Bitly is always improving our products to make your life easier. You might also see new features in the coming months. Register now to get all the new features and stay on top of future developments.
